"The Montecito has been home to my 90 year old mother for nearly 3 years. I looked at several assisted living facilities in the area before choosing the Montecito Senior Living. The campus is well-maintained and attractive. Assisted living residents occupy the main two story building. Those residents have their own apartments with full kitchens, bedroom & bath, washer/dryer, housekeeping, and either a private balcony or patio. There is an outdoor swimming pool and beauty salon on site. Assisted living residents are provided 3 meals per day, serving all day. There have been several staff changes during her stay, but each change seems to result in improvements! The most comforting thing about living here is the caring, patient, and respectful employees. They really do go out of their way to keep residents stimulated, active and happy. The current pandemic has resulted in many challenges in operation to keep the residents safe. Currently, they are in a lock-down mode, family & visitors are not allowed in, but have found solutions through technology to keep residents and family in touch. The staff is creative, coming up with new ideas to engage the residents during these trying times: hall bingo, outdoor BBQ's, sewing masks, all while keeping social distancing in mind. To date, there have been no cases of Covid-19 among residents or staff! Additional benefits of calling the Montecito home is the entertainment, happy hours, and movies, a chapel, library, and wellness center. Transportation is provided to residents for outings & doctor appointments; the drivers are patient and kind. Mother is safe, social and happy living there. I truly believe this move has improved her quality of life and perhaps even extended it. We would definitely recommend this senior center."
"My Dad lived at Montecito for 2 ½ years, until he passed away. From our first visit we felt it was a great place for him. Since it was converted from independent living to assisted living, he had a full kitchen, which he didn’t use often but came in very handy as his mobility was more limited and we could finish cooking a home cooked meal with him in his apartment. We give special thanks to Jill for guiding us to a nice apartment selection for Dad, Janine the Resident Services manager for insuring Dad had the care he needed as his needs increased, Terri for planning and executing the activities that Dad enjoyed and ultimately his celebration of life upon his passing, and a most special thanks to Annette who runs dinning. Annette befriended Dad and gave him the special attention that those suffering with Parkinson’s require. She went further to show him attention and a friendship that he relished. While Annette was astonishing, she was just another good example of what The Montecito offers in senior living."
"We love Montecito! From the moment we toured the facility, we knew it was the place for Dad. He began needing additional care and Montecito was able to meet all of his needs. From Jill in Marketing to Janine in Resident Services to Annette in Dining to Terri in Activities, we couldn’t have been more pleased with the service each of them provided. The caregivers are attentive, caring and cheerful and Dad got to know them well. Montecito was able to provide additional assistance as Dad’s needs changed. Although Dad didn’t participate in a lot of the activities, there are so many of them to enjoy. All you need do is decide what you want to do and join in. It’s a great way to meet people with similar interests. Dad made so many friends while he was living there! And he LOVED his filet for dinner! Thanks, Annette!"
"My parents moved to the Montecito in 2017. The facility is so spacious and inviting! Staff members are professional, knowledgeable, patient, caring and helpful. Everyone is so friendly! There are many outings and onsite events that encourage the residents to mingle and get to know one another. The grounds are well kept and inviting. This is such a safe environment and we are so happy they chose the Montecito!"
"I love this place. Caring staff, filet mignon served daily, Great activities that I can participate in with mom. Her unit has a kitchen even though she no longer cooks and they have all day dining. Also most places I looked did not have balconies. My mom can sit outside with weather permitting and enjoy coffee looking over their swimming pool. I am considering their villa area myself in the future."
"My Dad has never been happier than here. When I left the area, he moved to another home closer to my sister and was miserable. Few activities, so-so food, etc. We could see him shutting down and only leaving his room for meals. Moved back to Montecito and he's back to his old jolly self, busy with activities and friends, getting around the place in his walker to the point we have to set an appt with him to visit or we'll never find him!"
